1. Why is the Town of Newmarket changing the waste collection schedule days?

The Town of Newmarket is changing the waste collection days for some residents to better accommodate Newmarket's population growth and increase efficiency for collection by balancing out the number of households collected on each day. This one-time modification will be in effect on January 1, 2018. 

Your waste collection day may have changed. Please visit newmarket.ca/collectionchange and use our waste and recycling address look up application to double-check your waste, recycling, green bin and yard waste pick-up day.

2. How will this waste collection schedule change benefit me?
This schedule change will help the Town and Green for Life streamline processes and create efficiencies in the event of inclement weather or equipment failure.

This schedule change will decrease missed calls due to more efficient pick-up routes.   

3. When will the waste collection schedule change come into effect?
January 1, 2018 

4. I have forgotten to place my waste and recycling items at the curb on my new scheduled pick-up day, what do I do now?

Call Green for Life (GFL) at 1-866-421-5625 and one of the Customer Service associates will be able to assist you. 
Use the online address look-up application to double-check your collection day. Please ensure that all items are placed at the curb by 7 a.m. on your new scheduled day to ensure pick-up.
