Hourly Rental

A minimum of one hour is required for ice and arena floor bookings.  For ice bookings, this included 50 minutes of ice use and 10 minutes of ice maintenance per hour of booking.

Insurance

All sporting events are required to carry comprehensive general liability insurance in the amount of no less than $2000000.00 depending on the nature of the event for which the permit is issued.  Such insurance will be carried for the rental period and will have the Corporation of the Town of Newmarket shown as an additional insured on the policy.  The Town of Newmarket can provide insurance for user groups through the OMEX Facility User Group Program.

 

​Cancellation Policy
1) Permanent seasonal ice cancellation will only be accepted until September 1.

2) The Town of Newmarket, Recreation and Culture Department has the right to close facilities due to unforeseen circumstances. Where this occurs a 100% credit will be applied to your permit contract.

3) After a contract is signed, single or occasional use cancellations will be permitted only if initiated by the contract holder and under the following conditions:
     a. Written notice 14 Calendar days prior to rental is provided to Facility Bookings: 
     b. And, Organizations interested in avoiding specific days or blocks of time, such as Thanksgiving, Halloween,      
        Christmas, Family Day, March Break and Easter within the booking period, must request such exceptions when   
        submitting applications for ice: 
     c. And, Payment of $25.00 administration fee per hour and a cancellation fee of 15% per hour of cancelled ice
         time.

4) To assist all organized sports during their playoff schedules and figure skating test days, the cancellation requirement as listed in item #3 above will be waived, provided that notice is given 2 calendar days prior to the rental.

Municipal Alcohol Policy

The Community Services Recreation and Culture Department would like to inform you and your participants that you are participating in an event at a Town of Newmarket facility. Under the Town's Municipal Alcohol Policy no alcohol is allowed in the dressing rooms or arenas. We ask for your co-operation. Failure to comply with the NO ALCOHOL rule will result in the cancellation of your permit. Please inform all your players/members of this policy. It will be fully enforced.
