Dave Kerwin has served on Newmarket council for 35 years and has resided in town for 42 years with his wife Erika. He is the father of two and a grandfather of four.
Dave retired from the York Region District School Board as an educator and has dedicated his time to volunteering with the Newmarket Hurricanes and supporting seniors and youth. He also participates in annual fundraising events including the Persechini Run/Walk-a-thon.
He has been awarded the George Richardson Conservation Award, Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority Watershed Award and has accepted the dedication of the Dave Kerwin Trail, all recognizing his dedication to the environment.
He brings experience and dedication to the table, having served on many committees throughout his years on council from the audit committee to the torch relay committee.
He prides himself on being available for constituents, encouraging open dialogue and looks forward to serving residents for the 2014-2018 term of Council.
