Please note that the Town of Newmarket is working with DocuPet on an awareness program aimed at advising residents about pet licensing. All cats and dogs in Newmarket must be licensed as per the Town of Newmarket's Animal Control Bylaw. Starting Monday, January 29, community representatives, hired by DocuPet, will be going to residences in Newmarket to distribute doorhangers. DocuPet will not be participating in a door-to-door sales campaign and licenses will not be sold at the door.
The purpose of this campaign is to advise residents that their pets (cats and/or dogs) are to be licensed with the Town as well as to remind residents that they are to renew their pet licenses if they haven't already done so. Residents living in the Town of Newmarket can purchase an annual license for their cat or dog by:
- Visiting newmarket.docupet.com to license and pay online.
- Visiting the Municipal Offices, Ray Twinney Recreation Complex and Magna Centre during Customer Service Kiosk operating hours
- Visit participating locations in Newmarket. A complete list can be found on our website
The cost to licence a cat or dog in Newmarket is $35 or $30 for seniors (55 years of age and over). All licences purchased are valid for a full year from the date of purchase.
