Downtown Urban Space Naming Contest:

 Instructions:

1. Review the artistic renderings, design elements and main features of Newmarket's new downtown urban space. 

2. Come up with a creative name that reflects the design elements and features of the urban space (suggested names can be 3 words max.). 

3. Think of how you will explain how your suggested name is relevant to Newmarket's new downtown urban space (50 words max.).  You will need to explain this when completing the online contest ballot.

 Tip: Suggested names can be a play on words reflecting the design elements and features of the urban space (see artistic renderings and descriptions below).

Design elements:

• Inspired by water, the space's components represent movement and flow
• Steps cascade to the Holland River's water's edge
• A large canopy anchors the site, providing shade and shelter for the space

Main features:

• A large skating rink (winter)
• An interactive water feature
• Hard and soft zones for a wide array of activities (i.e. markets, concerts and everyday play)
