Inclusivity Committee
in·clu·siv·i·ty (in-klü-si-v?-t?): the quality or state of being inclusive; a sense of belonging, openness, and harmony
The Town of Newmarket formed the Inclusivity Advisory Committee in the fall of 2008 to serve as a resource for council and the community. The committee envisions Newmarket to be an inclusive community where differences are welcome and celebrated, and where its mosaic of citizens are renowned for showing mutual courtesy, dignity, and respect.
The mission of the committee is to act as an ongoing source of guidance and information to Council and residents, and it will facilitate experiences that encourage awareness, promote sharing and understanding, and foster harmony.
Current Committee Members include nine residents and three members of Council as follows:
Evert Akkerman
Denise Anderson
Farrah Bacchus
Avanthi Goddard
Rob Hums
Nolie Johnston
Mohammad Khan
Ranji Singh, Chair
Kenneth Sisler
Councillor Di Muccio
