Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO)

Under the direction of Bob Shelton, Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), the CAO's Office is responsible for all of the daily administrative and operations at the Town of Newmarket. The Office of Continuous Improvement, the Corporate Communications department and the Human Resources department operate directly under the CAO's Office.

Commissions

As part of the Town's continuous drive to be well beyond the ordinary, further changes to the organizational structure occurred in January 2006 with the addition of two new Commissions. The realignment under the Corporate Services Commission and the Community Services Commission signify additional efforts to improve the decision making process, maximize organization efficiency, effectiveness and customer service. The Town's new structure reflects the following Commissions:

Corporate Services - Bob Dixon, the Commissioner of Corporate and Financial Services provides leadership to the following departments: Purchasing, Information Technology, Legislative Services, Customer Service, Treasury and Financial Services.

Community Services - Rob Prentice, the Commissioner of Community Services provides leadership to the following departments: Public Works Services. Engineering, Capital Projects and Asset Management Service and Recreation and Culture Services.

Legal & Development Services - Bob Dixon, Acting Commissioner of Legal & Development Services provides leadership to the following departments: Building & Bylaws, Planning, Legal Services and Economic Development.
