Housekeeping and Technical Amendments to the Town of Newmarket Official Plan
On August 21, 2012 OPA #7 was approved by the Region of York and came into effect.
Proposed Official Plan & Zoning By-law Amendment
iPLANcorp was retained by the Corporation of the Town of Newmarket to support the processing of planning applications for Glenway Estates Newmarket (Marianneville Developments Limited).
Applications have been submitted for lands located in northwest Newmarket, south of Davis Drive West between Yonge Street and Bathurst Street. We received applications for an Official Plan Amendment, a Zoning Bylaw Amendment and a Draft Plan of Subdivision to permit a proposed residential community. The applicant is proposing to amend an existing land use currently designated in the Town of Newmarket Official Plan, 2006 as Parks and Open Space to the following land use designations - Stable Residential, Emerging Residential, Urban Centre, and Commercial. The applicant is proposing to amend the Town's Zoning By-law, 2010-40 in the following ways:

Proposed Zoning By-law Amendment
Zoning By-Law amendment application has been made to amend the existing Provincial Urban Centre Zone (UC-P) to permit: increased height, density (Floor Space Index) and other specified provisions of the Zoning By-Law to permit a Long Term Care Facility, Retirement Residence and Conference Centre.

The above presentation was presented at a Community meeting on April 23rd. The information presented proposed refinements to the project but has not been formally submitted to the Town, and an application to amend their rezoning application has not been made at this time. These slides are for information and discussion purposes to facilitate feedback.
