About Winterfest:
Celebrate winter at this annual festival that features two days of fun winter activities across Newmarket, hosted by the Town of Newmarket and supported by 35 community organizations. Try new activities, foods and enjoy live music. Admission is free, with a minimal fee for some activities, food and drinks. Food donations are appreciated. For a detailed schedule of events please read below. Submit to change without notice.

Newmarket Riverwalk Commons


  • 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.: Ring toss and kids games, brought to you by the Newmarket Car Club 

  • 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Jumbo hotdogs ($3), hot chocolate and water ($1), brought to you by the Newmarket Rotary Club

  • 11:30 am to Noon: Skating showcase by the Newmarket Skating Club on the Tim Horton's Skating and Water Feature​

  • 1 to 2 p.m.: Meet your local firefighters and touch a fire truck, brought to you by Central York Fire Services 

  • 1:30 to 2 p.m.: Skating showcase by Iced Energy Synchronized Skating

Stage Shows

  • 10:15 to 10:30 a.m.: Musical performance by Sydney Nicholson

  • 10:30​​ to 11:30 a.m.: Speaking of Wildlife presentation

  • Noon to 1 p.m.: "Frozen" interactive show with Olaf, Anna and Elsa presented by Fairyland Theatre
