The Town of Newmarket Election Sign By-law 2017-74 establishes rules about election sign placement, sizes, installation and removal dates and other restrictions enforced by the Town of Newmarket. It is the responsibility of each candidate or his or her campaign staff to familiarize themselves with the rules for election signs in Newmarket. The Town will remove signs that are in violation of the Town of Newmarket Election Sign By-law 2017-74. 

The Town also enforces York Region's Sign By-law 2016-36 which establishes rules about election sign placement on Regional Roads.

There is a non-refundable fee of $500 to erect election signs in the Town of Newmarket. In addition a $25 removal fee will be charged for each sign removed.  Accumulated removal fees will be invoiced following the election. 

Sign Removal and Pick-up

Signs that have been removed durnig the Provincial Election campaign period will be available for pick up during the week of June 11, 2018, and following payment of any outstanding invoices.
