Large Item Tags
The Town of Newmarket is asking for residents to hold off on placing large items at the curb for collection to help collectors manage additional garbage volumes during this time. If there is an immediate need to dispose of a large item, large item tags are still available for purchase and can be purchased over the phone by contacting Customer Service at 905-895-5193. The Town will send you your large item tag by mail.
Blue Boxes and Green Bins
Blue boxes and green bins are still available for purchase and can be purchased over the phone by contacting Customer Service at 905-895-5193.
The R.N. Shelton Operations Centre is currently closed to the public until further notice. Composters are not available for purchase during this time.
Garbage tags, large item/ appliance tags, blue boxes, green bins and kitchen catchers can be purchased from the Municipal Offices, Newmarket Public Library (tags only), Magna Centre, Ray Twinney Recreation Complex, Newmarket Seniors' Meeting Place and the Newmarket Operations Centre (Debit & Credit payments only at the Operations Center) .

The Town of Newmarket offers reduced price blue boxes, green bins and kitchen catchers in the spring as part of Canadian Environment Week and in the fall as part of Waste Reduction Week.
Broken Blue Box or Green Bin
Blue boxes and green bins are replaced free of charge if broken. Residents can bring their broken blue box or green bin to a Town facility (Municipal Offices, Magna Centre, Ray Twinney Recreation Complex or Newmarket Operations Centre) to exchange or call our waste collection contractor Green for Life (GFL) at 1-866-421-5625 to schedule a replacement bin exchange. Broken blue boxes or green bins must be at the curb on the date of exchange agreed to with our contractor GFL in order to receive a replacement bin.
