Here is what you need to know about June:

  • June is Recreation and Park Month 
    A movement that promotes the benefits of recreation and parks for physical, social and environmental health. There is so much we can do safely, and so much to discover! It is all on the calendar, on our How To Page and HomeSweetHome, details and links below.
  • June is National Indigenous History Month 
    A special time to honour the significant history, heritage and diversity of Indigenous peoples in Canada. National Indigenous Peoples Day is June 21, 2021  - celebrate at home and learn more about the cultural diversity of the First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples.   • June is Seniors Month 
    A time to recognize amazing older adults and the contributions they've made.   • June is Pride Month

  • June is Bike Month

  • National AccessAbility Awareness Week - May 30 to June 5 
    Accessibility and inclusion make communities whole. Let's develop an awareness of how every person or business can more fully contribute to making improvements. As we work to build a community that is inclusive and accessible, we enrich the lives of all.  Learn more at newmarket.ca/inclusion 
  • Water Safety Week - June 5 to 12
