Facilities closed starting Wednesday, January 5, 2022.
The Town of Newmarket continues to work with all levels of government to respond to COVID-19 regulations and safety remains our top priority. Following the Province's announcement that Ontario will be moving into a modified Step 2 of its Roadmap to Reopen on Wednesday, January. 5, 2022, the Town of Newmarket has closed all facilities to the public until further notice.  All drop-in, registered programs, events and public meetings have been cancelled.  Click here for more information and Frequently Asked Questions.

Snap shot – what parents need to know:

  • Similar to school and daycare, campers need to conduct COVID symptom screening and stay home when experiencing symptoms. (Click here to do the screening)
  • Masks are required inside at all times (except while eating & drinking).
  • Campers 12+ must be fully vaccinated


Screening of Camp Participants:
  • Campers will be required to complete a COVID-19 Screening (Click here to do the screening) each day prior to arrival at camp. Camper will need to show the green checkmark page to the Camp Director at sign in.

  • Proof of vaccination and identification will be required for campers aged 12+ in accordance with Provincial legislation. Proof of vaccination is not required for children age 4-11. Fully vaccinated means all individuals must have proof of two doses of a Health Canada Approved Vaccine or one dose of the Jansen (Johnson and Johnson) vaccine plus a two-week waiting period from their last dose.

  • If a camper fails the screening, or does not provide proof of vaccination, they will not be permitted to attend camp.

Symptomatic Camp Participants & Return to Camp:
  • Should a campers start exhibiting symptoms during the camp day, strict protocols will be followed beginning with the camper being immediately isolated from the rest of the camp.
  • Immediate pick up is required (within 30 minutes). Please ensure at least 1 of the camper's emergency contacts is able to pick up within 30 minutes.
  • Anyone else who also lives with the camper will also be sent home.
  • In order to return to camp after being sent home, away for illness, exposure, or due to a failed screening a parent/guardian will be required to fill out the Return to Town of Newmarket Camps Parent Attestation Following Child Illness form and send completed form to camps@newmarket.ca

Safety at Camp:
  • All campers & staff will be required to wear a face covering at all times indoors. Campers will not be required to wear a face covering
    while outdoors.
  • All camps will have a small group format.
  • Equipment and supplies will be cleaned and sanitized between uses. Where possible, individual supplies and equipment will provided.
  • Frequent hand washing will be enforced throughout the day. Hand sanitizer will also be available.
  • Campers will participant in outdoor time each day, unless there is inclement weather.


Town of Newmarket Camps will follow the most up to date legislation outlined by the Provincial Government and will be adjusted accordingly should guidelines change.
