Extended Care is available at an additional cost for campers four to 14 years old who need care before and/or after regular camp hours. Hours vary based on location. If campers are not registered for camp at Extended Care location, they will be bused to and from camp. ​

Extended Care Locations

The Town of Newmarket has four Extended Care locations:

• Recreation Youth Centre, 56 Charles Street (7 to 9 a.m. & 4 to 6 p.m.)
• Ray Twinney Recreation Complex, 100 Eagle Street West (7:30 to 9 a.m. & 4 to 6 p.m.)
• Magna Centre, 800 Mulock​ Drive (7:30 to 9 a.m. & 4 to 6 p.m.)
• Alexander Muir Public School, 75 Ford Wilson Blvd. (7:30 to 9 a.m. & 4 to 6 p.m.)

Please note: during the week of August 28 to September 1, Extended Care will only be available at the Ray Twinney Recreation Complex and the Recreation Youth Centre. The Extended Care location depends on the location of the camp.

Extended Care Fees

Fees are the same for Residents and Non-Residents

Five-day morning care: $25 | Five-day evening care: $25

Four-day morning Care: $20 | Four-day evening care: $20

*Four day Extended Care is only available the week of August 8 to 11, 2017

How to Register

1. When registering at one of our Customer Service desks, we will be happy to add Extended Care to your camp registration(s).

 Back by popular demand! Campers ages six to 14 years, have the option to participate in swimming lessons during Extended Care Hours. 

These 45 minute swimming lessons will take place daily (Monday to Friday) and will be available for LSS Swim for Life Levels. At the time of registration, you will be prompted to enter the swim level that your child will be currently working towards. Swim groups will be created by grouping swimmers of similar levels together.

​Morning A.M. Lessons

Location: Ray Twinney Recreation Complex (100 Eagle Street West)
Arrive at Extended Care: 7:30 a.m. (preferably arrive in bathing attire with camp clothes over top)
Lesson: 7:45 to 8:30 a.m. (After the lesson, a camp counsellor will bring the swimmers back to the regular Extended Care area and to the appropriate camp locations)

Evening P.M. Lessons

Locations: Ray Twinney Recreation Complex (100 Eagle Street West) & Magna Centre (800 Mulock Drive)
Lesson: 4:30 to 5:15 p.m. (After lesson, a camp counsellor will bring the campers back to the regular Extended Care area.)
