Introducing…Random Acts of Downtown Shopping
Get ready Newmarket, it's been two long years and we are ready to roll out the welcome mat and officially welcome you back to our award-winning Main Street, we have missed you!
The Town of Newmarket is very excited to announce the Random Acts of Downtown Shopping (RADS) campaign that will see $20,000 worth of shopping vouchers for local downtown businesses sprinkled throughout the community. Our goal is to bring a ray of sunshine to the amazing community, to attract old and new customers to Main Street and celebrate the positive energy and vibrancy of the Business Improvement Area (BIA) district.
This exciting program is part of an overall $50,000 investment in Newmarket's downtown, funded directly from the revenue generated from the recent film production of a popular television series in downtown Newmarket. We aim to surprise and delight Newmarket residents, while also giving back to the downtown business community that was directly impacted by disruptions, street and parking closures as a result of the filming.
How it works
From April 25 to May 7, hundreds of local residents will be surprised with gift vouchers to your favourite downtown hair salons, restaurants, shops and more! There will be many ways you might be surprised! One way to increase your chance of receiving one of the vouchers is to follow the Town's social media channels for giveaways. Residents may also be surprised with a gift voucher for participating in Town programs, walking the trails or just exploring the community.
Inspired by Random Acts of Kindness, if you are the lucky recipient of a voucher that you will not be able to use, please pass it along to a friend, family or stranger to help brighten someone else's day.
The value of the vouchers will range from $10 - $125, they must be used at one-time and redeemed by June 15, 2022.
