  • Are you ready for the best Newmarket summer ever?

    Created: Tuesday, April 05, 2022

It has been two long years and now the Town of Newmarket is very excited to announce that a full lineup of the community’s most loved events will be back in full swing this spring and summer, including Tim Hortons Canada Day festivities, Moonlight Movies and the Thursday night TD Newmarket Music Series concerts.

“Over the past two years our community has continued to come together, while staying physically apart to demonstrate our strength, resiliency and commitment to each other during the most challenging circumstances,” says Newmarket Mayor John Taylor. “I am so proud of our collective efforts and now we get to celebrate, as a community, to experience the incredible vibrancy and magic of our special events that we have all missed so much. I can guarantee that many unforgettable memories will be created in Newmarket this summer.”

With spring officially here, and winter in the rear-view mirror, here is what to look forward to this summer:

    York Pride Fest
June is Pride Month in York Region and around the world. Newmarket celebrated its biggest and most colourful York Pride Parade yet in June 2019 and York Pride Fest is back for 2022! The Town of Newmarket is strongly committed to being an inclusive community and welcomes everyone to once again unite to celebrate as one.

    Touch a Truck
One of the community’s favourite events will be returning this September, with more details to be released at a later date. Please check back for additional event details.

While restrictions have limited opportunities to host large events over the past two years, the Town has offered many opportunities to connect throughout the pandemic, through modified events in drive-in, drive-thru, walk-thru and limited capacity formats as well as Summer Camps and Park Programs, and virtual June Celebrations.

As the Town and province emerges from the pandemic with public health measures continuing to be lifted, the health and safety of the community will continue to be the number one priority for the Town of Newmarket. If the COVID-19 landscape changes, these events are subject to change.

With sunnier days and times ahead, the Town of Newmarket is ready to help make the summer of 2022 well beyond the ordinary for all residents, friends and families.
