​Are you looking for a way to feel more connected to your community? Applications for Town Committees and Boards for the 2022-2026 Term of Council are now open.

If you're 18 or older, looking to make a difference in your community, build your resume, create connections and develop new skills, now is your opportunity to join. 

The Town of Newmarket establishes Committees and Boards to be responsible for and make recommendations to Council regarding various matters. Applications are now being accepted for the following committees:

• Accessibility Advisory Committee: Encourages and facilitates accessibility for all persons with disabilities. 
• Appeal Committee: A quasi-judicial body which judges hearing appeals for Town by-laws.
• Audit Committee: Assists the Council in maintaining the financial integrity of the municipality.
• Committee of Adjustment: Regulated by the Planning Act, this Committee makes decisions on Minor Variances and Land Severances.
• Elman W. Campbell Museum Board: Responsible for advising on the development of policies and programs for the operation of the Elman W. Campbell Museum.
• Heritage Newmarket Advisory Committee: Assist the Town in documentation and preservation of historical structure, buildings, properties and artifacts.
• Newmarket Economic Development Advisory Committee: Provides strategic advice to attract, expand and retain business to support balanced and sustainable long-term growth.
• Newmarket Public Library Board: Governs the affairs of the Library within the framework of the Public Libraries Act and provides prudent oversight of the Library's operations.
• Property Standards Committee: A quasi-judicial body that hears appeals by property owners who have received an order of the Property Standard Officer from the Town.
