Flags at all Town of Newmarket and Central York Fire Services' facilities are flying at half-mast to honour the life of The Honourable David C. Onley, former Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, who passed away at the age of 72 this past Saturday. Mr. Onley was the first person with a physical disability to hold the position from 2007 to 2014 and was an active advocate for improved access to employment for people with disabilities.

The Town of Newmarket offers our deepest condolences and sympathies to Mr. Onley's family, friends and colleagues during this difficult time.
