​Flags at all Town of Newmarket and Central York Fire Services' facilities are flying at half-mast to honour the life of Hazel McCallion, former long-time Mayor of Mississauga, who passed away at the age of 101 this past Sunday, January 29. McCallion served as the Mayor of Mississauga for 36 years from 1978 until her retirement in 2014.

The Town of Newmarket offers our deepest condolences and sympathies to Mrs. McCallion's family, friends and former colleagues during this difficult time.
