  • Heat warning issued for Newmarket. Stay cool at a Town facility.

    Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for York Region. Residents and members of the public looking to escape the warm temperatures this season can visit one of Newmarket's facilities and amenities below during regular hours of operation.

    Monday to Sunday: 5:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.

    Ray Twinney Recreation Complex (100 Eagle Street West) 

    Monday to Sunday: 5:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.

    Newmarket Public Library (474 Park Avenue) 

    Monday: Closed 
     
    Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday: 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. 
     
    Friday and Saturday: 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. 
     
    Sunday: 1 to 5 p.m. 

     
    Those looking to cool down can also visit a Newmarket spray pad or one of Newmarket's Swimming Pools during the public swim times. Please note that regular swim fees apply for all pools listed.

    The Town reminds residents that the best defence against heat-related illness is prevention. Take precautions when going outdoors, limit heat exposure if possible and stay hydrated.
