​Update as of January 10 at 3 p.m.: Outdoor Skating at the Mercedes-Benz Outdoor Skating Rink has reopened.

The Mercedes-Benz Outdoor Skating Rink at Newmarket's Riverwalk Commons (200 Doug Duncan Drive) will be closed as of January 8 at 5 p.m. for unscheduled lighting repairs until the evening of Friday, January 10. 

We apologize for the inconvenience and thank residents for their patience as we work to repair the lights that will ensure the safety of all skaters.

Other skating opportunities are available at the Magna Centre (fees apply) and the Ray Twinney Recreation Complex (fees apply), with Shinny available at the Lions Park Outdoor Hockey Rink (424 D'arcy Street) (free).
