Residents are invited to a statutory public meeting about the Zoning By-law Amendments for 693 and 713 Davis Drive and northern 21m. Please note this development is taking place near the Hollingsworth Arena Site.
The Zoning By-law Amendment does not include the remaining Hollingsworth Arena lands (2.14 acres of land), which remain owned by the Town of Newmarket for future park purposes.
The Statutory Public Meeting will take place on:
- Where: Monday, January 13, 2020 at the Municipal Offices (395 Mulock Drive) in the Council Chambers
- 6 p.m. – Informational Open House in the foyer in front of the Council Chambers
- 7 p.m. – Statutory Meeting begins
The Zoning By-law Amendment is to permit an increased density for a commercial and residential mixed-use building comprising of two 15-storey towers linked by a three-storey podium with ground floor commercial space fronting onto Davis Drive.

The Town of Newmarket has received a complete application for Zoning By-law Amendment for the properties municipally addressed as 693 – 713 Davis Drive. This application includes the lands addressed at 693 and 713 Davis Drive, along with a further 21 metres north. Please view the map detailing the location of the subject lands for more information.
The application does not include the remaining Hollingsworth Arena lands, which remain owned by the Town for future park purposes.
The applicant is proposing to rezone the subject lands from the existing Mixed Use 2 (MU-2) zone to facilitate an increase in building height and density to permit:
A statutory public meeting, as required by the Planning Act, will be held on Monday, January 13, 2020 at 7:00 P.M. in the Council Chambers at 395 Mulock Drive, with an informational open house immediately preceding at 6:00 PM in the foyer in front of the Council Chambers.
If a person or public body would otherwise have an ability to appeal the decision of the Town of Newmarket to the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal but the person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Town of Newmarket before the by-law is passed, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision.
If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting, or make written submissions to the Town of Newmarket before the by-law is passed, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to do so.
