The Town of Newmarket is planning to host a virtual Public Planning meeting on Monday, January 18, 2021 at 1 p.m. to consider a proposed amendment to the Official Plan for the following address:
- 16250 Yonge Street
- 16353 Yonge Street
- 13450 Yonge Street

The applicant, Shining Hill Estates Collection Inc., is proposing to amend the Official Plan to re-designate the lands from "Environmental Protection Area – Oak Ridges Moraine", "Stable Residential", and "Parks & Open Space" to "Site Specific Emerging Residential", "Parks & Open Space", "Natural Heritage System", and "Environmental Protection Area – Oak Ridge Moraine".
The meeting will be streamed live at newmarket.ca/meetings.
The purpose of this meeting is to allow members of the public to provide their feedback on the proposed amendment. Members of the public can participate by:
1. Submitting written comments: Written comments may be emailed to
email@example.com. In order for comments to be received by Council at the statutory public meeting, written comments must be submitted to firstname.lastname@example.org by end of day January 17, 2021.
Written comments will also continue to be received after the public meeting has concluded, after the meeting written comments can be sent to email@example.com
2. Speaking to Council during the live meeting through video conferencing (Zoom): Individuals who wish to provide verbal representation may provide a remote (live) deputation through the Zoom platform during the Council meeting.
Due to the technical requirements of joining an electronic meeting, residents are strongly encouraged to pre-register for a remote (live) deputation by completing the form provided at newmarket.ca/meetings or by providing their full name and contact information by registering via firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling 905-953-5300 ext. 2203.
Personal information collected in response to the planning application will be used to assist Town staff and Council to process this application and will be made public.
