Town of Newmarket’s First Night Firework Event is Postponed Due to Province-wide Lockdown
The Town of Newmarket’s Tim Hortons First Night Fireworks event has been postponed due to new provincial regulations during the province-wide shutdown. On December 21, 2020, the province implemented new regulations that do not permit drive-in or drive-thru events. The event has been tentatively rescheduled for Family Day weekend pending the Provincial and Public Health guidelines at that time.
Residents who currently have a ticket for the event have received an email to inform them about the event postponement. All tickets will be honoured for the postponed date and any residents requesting a refund can send their request to email@example.com.
The Town continues to allow outdoor amenities like trails, parks, and outdoor skating at Riverwalk Commons (200 Doug Duncan Drive). All participants will be required to book their skate session in advance at play.newmarket.ca. New timeslots will be available each Friday at 6 a.m. for the following week. At this time, outdoor skating is only open to Newmarket residents due to limited space available.
