  • Track the progress of Council's Strategic Priorities through a new online dashboard

    Created: Thursday, February 11, 2021

Track the progress of Council's Strategic Priorities through a new online dashboard

The Town of Newmarket is excited to launch its new in-house developed online Council Strategic Priorities Dashboard. This new online dashboard will be updated bi-annually so that residents can easily track the progress of Council while viewing a roadmap that drives Council decision-making and Town planning. Residents will also get to see how Council is fulfilling the Town’s vision of a well beyond the ordinary community.

Council's Strategic Priorities were determined through results gathered from the Town's Community Survey Results in 2018, coupled with engagement sessions with Newmarket staff and Council members.

“The innovative Council Strategic Priority Dashboard is the first-of-its-kind platform for Newmarket residents to track the progress of Council decisions in an accessible, accountable and transparent way.” says Mayor John Taylor. “This dashboard will ensure consistent updating and reporting across all of the six identified strategic priorities while telling the story of how these priorities will continue to guide us in becoming an even more vibrant, innovative and sustainable community.”

The six priorities are Long-Term Financial Sustainability, Extraordinary Places and Spaces (priority focus on the Mulock Property), Safe Transportation (streets), Economic Leadership and Job Creation, Vibrancy on Yonge, Davis and Mulock and Environmental Stewardship. Council’s Strategic Priorities will help shape actions and organizational business plans, and employee and organizational performance goals and objectives.

Within the dashboard, two initiatives per strategic priority have been identified for reporting with two major action items for each priority. Each action asks and answers three questions: Why is this measurement important? How is it measured? and What progress we are making?

Residents can learn more and track the progress of Council by viewing the Dashboard at
