Special Council - Electronic on May 25, 2020 

Written Deputations

At this time, the Municipal Offices are closed to the public. Individuals who wish to submit a deputation in relation to an item on this agenda shall provide their comments in writing no later than 2 hours prior to the start of the meeting to clerks@newmarket.ca. These comments will be read aloud by the Mayor during the live meeting, considered with the related item, and will form part of the public record.

Please complete the Written Deputation Form and submit to clerks@newmarket.ca by 12:00 PM on May 25, 2020.

Remote Deputations

Individuals who wish to address Council may choose to provide a remote (live) deputation through the Zoom platform during a Council meeting. Due to the technical requirements of joining an electronic meeting of Council, remote deputants must meet the following requirements:

  • Deputants must join the Zoom electronic meeting using a high-speed internet connection and device capable of video-conferencing, or through telephone.
  • Deputants must join a test session to confirm these technical requirements on Monday, May 25, 2020 prior to 12:00 PM (noon).
  • Deputants wishing to use electronic materials such as PowerPoint presentations must provide electronic files during the test session.
  • Remote deputations must be related to items listed on the agenda.

Please complete the Remote Deputation Form and submit to clerks@newmarket.ca by end of day on Sunday, May 24, 2020.

Live Stream

The meeting will be streamed live and a copy of the archived video will be made available after the meeting. If there are any technical difficulties during the stream, we will attempt to provide the archived video after the meeting.

Regular Council Schedule Suspended due to COVID-19

Due to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak, all Council, Committee of the Whole, Board and Advisory Committee regular meeting schedules have been suspended until August 2020 out of an abundance of caution. If public health officials' messaging change with respect to physical distancing, staff will work in consultation with the Mayor and Chief Administrative Officer to resume meetings as soon as possible. 

Special Council meetings may be held electronically to support essential Town business and services as necessary. These meetings will be listed under “Special Council – Electronic”
