Textile Collection Program Suspended Until Further Notice
As part of ongoing efforts to protect the health and safety of donors, staff, partners, and the community during the COVID-19 pandemic, textile bins located at Town facilities have been temporarily removed. During this time, we ask that residents please hold off on bin donations until such time that the textile collection program is able to resume. Please do not leave material at these sites. Your continued support and understanding are appreciated.
The Town of Newmarket has partnered with Diabetes Canada on a textile recycling program to help support textile diversion in our community. This program accepts all adult and children's clothing and footwear, including undergarments, towels, pillows, and curtains. Items are accepted in all conditions, including items that are worn, torn, or stained.
Socks (single or pairs)
Pet clothing and beds
All donated textiles must be dry and free of any medical or hazardous liquids such as grease/oil, blood and vomit. Due to sanitary, health and safety concerns some items are not accepted, such as infant car seats.
