Utilities
Newmarket provides services for water and wastewater, as well as streetlights on local roads and trails. Other utilities are provided by third parties:
- Gas provided by Enbridge Gas
- Hydro (Electricity) provided by NT Power
- If you notice or are experiencing a power outage, please visit the outage map for NT Power or call 1-888-735-4801.
- Internet, Cable, Telephone provided by Rogers Communications and Bell Mobility
Street Lights
If you notice a street light outage or a problem with a light, please fill out a street light request form or call the Town of Newmarket at 905-895-5193. You will need to provide the street light (printed on the street light pole), along with the nearest intersection or house number, and a description of the issue.
York Region operations and maintains street lights at intersections on Regional roads.
Flood Damage to Property
Due to the heavy rain and saturated ground conditions, several areas throughout the Town have experienced flooding, including residential and commercial properties. If your home or business has suffered flood-related damages, please contact your insurance company directly, as they can assess each situation on a case-by-case basis.
Sewer Blockage
The clearing of sewer blockages on private property in the Town of Newmarket is the responsibility of the homeowner/resident.
