Congratulations, you're getting married!

To make it legal you'll need an Ontario Marriage Licence before your marriage ceremony.

Newmarket also offers civil ceremonies and a foreign divorce kit may be required and is applicable to individuals whose former marriage was dissolved or annulled in a jurisdiction other than in Canada.

You can purchase your marriage licence from the Town of Newmarket or any other municipality within Ontario that is authorized to issue licences. The licence is only for use within Ontario and must be used within three (3) months of the issue date.

To get your Marriage Licence you'll need to:

1. Complete a copy of the marriage licence application form. Please ensure the form has original signatures by both applicants.
