Mulock Park

The park on the former Mulock private estate embraces the site’s natural beauty, enhanced with space for active exploration, peaceful retreat, and an opportunity to inspire and be inspired by the arts. 2026 is the year you’ll get to explore the park that thousands of fellow residents helped to shape during the community visioning process.

Opening to the public on Friday, September 18 at 5 p.m. the Town will welcome residents and visitors to discover a new green oasis set under a gorgeous tree canopy at a key corner of urban Newmarket. The storied property at the corner of Yonge Street and Mulock Drive, once referred to as the Mulock Estate or Mulock Farm, will become a community hub, a space to come together, or enjoy quiet moments, to discover art and soak up nature.

Building Mulock Park

The Mulock Park Project is the town’s most significant capital project and is one of Newmarket’s largest parks and public gathering spaces.

Sustainability has been built into every aspect of Mulock Park’s design. From geothermal heating and cooling and solar power generation to energy-efficient building upgrades, rain gardens, permeable paving, and enhanced walking and cycling connections, the park is designed to reduce its environmental footprint for generations to come.

Visitors will also have opportunities to learn about local ecology through play in the Hollow Log Play Park, a natural discovery playscape, featuring  elements created from wood salvaged on-site, to help tell an ecological story about the regenerative life cycle of the forest (learn more about this interactive design).
