Profile
Born and raised in Newmarket, Trevor Morrison was elected in 2018 to serve as Ward 4 Councillor with a deep commitment to the community that shaped him. Trevor lives in Newmarket with his wife, Stephanie, and their two daughters, and takes great pride in raising his family in the same town he has always called home.
Trevor’s commitment to community involvement spans many organizations and initiatives. He regularly holds Ward 4 community meetings throughout the year and hosts additional sessions when important local issues arise. As a result of listening to the community, he has organized an annual Ward 4 Community Clean-Up event, bringing neighbours together to take pride in their community.
Currently, Trevor serves or has served on the Newmarket Public Library Board, Joint Council Committee for Central York Fire Services, Appointment Committee, Audit Committee, and the Elman W. Campbell Museum Board. His broader community involvement includes the Newmarket Food Pantry, Past Chair of the Newmarket Sports Hall of Fame, Member of the York Region Wellness and Safety Community Action Table for Central Newmarket, Maple Leaf Public School Parent Council, volunteer at Southlake Regional Health Centre, and Community Liaison Committee member for the Inn From the Cold Drop-In Program. Trevor believes strong communities are built on connection, collaboration, and responsible leadership.
Trevor is more than just Ward 4’s Councillor — he is an active and engaged community member dedicated to strengthening the quality of life for residents. His professional background includes earning an Honours Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Waterloo and a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. In addition to his role on council, Trevor is a local practicing chiropractor, who understands the importance of responsible budgeting and can transfer those skills to public office. Through years of working closely with individuals and families, Trevor developed a patient-centred approach built on listening, accountability, and helping people reach their goals — principles he carries into public service.
Trevor believes that meaningful public service is about action, visibility, and accountability. His involvement is not simply about holding office — it is about enriching the quality of life for Ward 4 residents today while building a strong and vibrant Newmarket for generations to come.
Trevor Morrison was elected as Ward 4 Councillor for the 2022 - 2026 term.
