Halls and Meeting Rooms

There are four facilities with rooms and halls available to rent through the Town of Newmarket:

  • Magna Centre – Meeting Rooms
  • Newmarket Community Centre & Lions Halls — Halls
  • Newmarket Seniors' Meeting Place — Halls
  • Ray Twinney Recreation Complex — Lounges

Whether you are looking to host an indoor meeting for a few guests or an event for up to 451, there is a venue available for you to rent.

How to rent a hall

  1. Find the best room for your meeting or event by exploring our hall amenities and capacities below. 
  2. Complete the Hall Request Form [PDF/85KB]. Submit by one of the following options:
    • Email: halls@newmarket.ca
    • Fax: 905-953-5113
    • Drop off in person or mail to:

  3. Our Facility Bookings Administrator will review your application and contact you regarding availability and confirm a quote.
  4. All applicable paperwork including a signed contract, insurance certificate and payment are to be submitted at a minimum of 14 days prior to your rental.

Magna Centre

Located on the east side of Newmarket, the Magna Centre is the perfect venue for meetings and birthday parties. This building features:

Newmarket Community Centre & Lions Hall

Located in the heart of downtown Newmarket, the Community Centre & Lions Hall is the perfect venue for banquets, meetings, receptions, and parties. This building features:

  • Free Wi-Fi
  • Close to Newmarket's Riverwalk Commons

Newmarket Seniors' Meeting Place

474 Davis Dr, Newmarket

Located in downtown Newmarket, one block east of Davis Drive and Main Street, the NSMP has a variety of halls available for weekend rental. The centre is also conveniently located along the Tom Taylor Trail, where a 5-10 minute walk will bring you to the Riverwalk Commons and Newmarket's historic main street. Building features include: 

  • Free Wi-Fi
  • A single story building, for accessibility
  • Halls 1 to 5 are all equipped with divider walls, allowing for varied spaces. Scroll below for hall combinations.

All the halls are equipped with:

  • Portable coat racks
  • Portable staging (maximum of 4, 4' x 8' pieces)
  • Podium
  • Rectangular tables (6' x 2.5')
  • Round tables (6' diameter)
  • Card tables (3' x 3')
  • Built-in microphone capability (Halls 1, 2, 3, 4, 5)
  • Wall colours are suitable for projection (no projection screen or projector) 

Ray Twinney Recreation Complex

Located on the West side of Newmarket, close to Upper Canada Mall, the Ray Twinney Recreation Complex Lounges are the perfect venue for meetings, small events, and parties. This building features:

  • Large, free public parking lots
  • Free wifi
  • Close to fields, diamonds, rinks and pool

Free calendar listing

  • Promote your meeting or event by adding it, for free, to the Town of Newmarket Calendar of Events and Meetings subject to the community calendar guidelines. 

Town of Newmarket facility internal LCD screens and external facility marquee signs (electronic signs) promotion

Promotion is available at no cost for charities, not-for-profits and non-profits only to help build awareness and promote your fundraising or charitable initiative within our Town of Newmarket facilities. We do not offer paid promotional opportunities on these screens. Promotions can run on the screens for a total of 6 weeks. Please submit your request with final artwork a minimum of 5 business days PRIOR to your promotion date. 

Submit your request and creative to marketingsponsorship@newmarket.ca with LCD Screens and your company / organization name in the subject line. You will get an email confirmation from one of our marketing colleagues to confirm your request. Learn more on our Marketing and Sponsorship page.
