In response to the Provincial news release Monday, June 7, 2021 and effective Friday, June 11 at 12:01 a.m. Ontario will be entering Step 1 of the COVID19 Reopening Plan. As a result, some outdoor Town amenities and programs will be re-opening and operational in accordance with Step 1. Please note, All Town of Newmarket indoor buildings, facilities and most indoor, in-person programs remain closed/cancelled as of the April 8, 2021 Lockdown notice, as they are not part of Step 1 of the Province's Reopening Plan.  

In accordance with all health and safety regulations as outlined by the Province and York Region Public Health, Stage 1 permits the operation of summer camps and outdoor pools.  The Town of Newmarket Summer Camps will be running, adhering to all protocols, as well the operation of the Gorman Outdoor Pool. This Step 1 of the reopening plan announcement does not affect or cancel any VIRTUAL programs currently running. Drop-In Schedules:

Changes to our admissions guidelines are due to adaptations to first aid response, which encourage self-treatment or treatment from a family member/guardian for minor emergencies. These changes are meant to decrease contact between staff and the public and to promote physical distancing.

Drop-In Class/ Session Cancellations:

  • If you cannot make your scheduled time up to one (1) day / 24 hours, in advance you can log back into your account and withdraw yourself from the scheduled workout session.  A credit will be applied to your account or you can rebook another available workout session.
  • For cancellations for Pool Programs (Public swim, Seniors swim, Parent & Tot swim Inclusion swim and Aqua Fitness): on the day of your session, please notify us by emailing info@newmarket.ca with CANCEL in the subject line or call Customer Service at 905-953-5303. A credit will be applied to your account.

Cancellations received within two (2) hours or less from your scheduled time will be considered late and tracked as a participant "no shows". Refunds will not be issued for cancellations deemed no shows.

Pay As You Go Lane Swim & Public Swim:

The Outdoor Gorman Pool will remain open to the public for Public swim, Parent & Tot swim, Inclusion swim, Senior's Swim & Aqua Fitness with reduced capacity. Residents are still asked to pay online using the Pay as you Go Fees. To reserve your spot visit: play.newmarket.ca

Pool / Swimming Pay as you Go Fees:  

  • Children up to 4 years old $1.25/ per swim
  • Members 5 years old and up $3/per swim
  • Aqua Fitness $5/class.

An inherent risk of exposure to communicable diseases including COVID-19 exists in any public space where people are present. By visiting any Town of Newmarket facility, building and/or amenity you voluntarily assume all risks including any risk of injury, loss, damage, and possible exposure to a communicable disease including COVID-19. We remind you to follow the COVID-19 precautionary guidelines being recommended by various Canadian health authorities including the York Region Public Health Unit, Ontario Health and Public Health Agency of Canada.
