Council

Newmarket Town Council includes the Mayor, one Deputy Mayor & Regional Councillor and seven Ward Councillors. Town Council is responsible for the governance of the Town of Newmarket, guided by provincial legislation. It establishes policies affecting the Town by resolutions and by-laws. Town staff is responsible for carrying out the direction of Council as a whole.

Council Priorities 

For the 2022-2026 term, Council has identified the above five priorities to act as our roadmap. They are leading the way to our extraordinary future and helping to make Newmarket one of the best places in the country to live, work and raise a family.

Guided by these priorities, we can begin to envision the bright future that lies ahead for this amazing community.
