Jane Twinney was first elected to Council in 2010 and has proudly served the community for over a decade. Throughout her time on Council, she has contributed to a number of committees and boards that support the growth, safety, and well being of the community. Jane has served as Chair of Central York Fire Services, a joint Council committee, and has also been a member of several important committees including the Accessibility Committee, Environmental Committee, and the Newmarket Public Library Board. She currently serves on the Audit Committee and Smart Commute Central York.
Jane is deeply committed to the community and believes in being present and engaged. She regularly participates in many local fundraising initiatives and community events that support organizations making a meaningful difference in the lives of residents. These include efforts supporting Southlake Regional Health Centre, Inn From the Cold, and many other local causes that strengthen and support the community.
Outside of her public service, Jane is an avid traveler and works professionally as a Luxury Destination Expert, helping others explore the world through thoughtfully designed travel experiences. In her personal time, she enjoys spending time with her dogs and working in her garden.
