Weather Alert

The Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority is advising that the forecasted rainfall amounts are posing a risk of flooding along the Lake Simcoe shoreline. Watercourses are flowing at a higher-than-normal causing local streams and rivers to become dangerous, especially in the vicinity of culverts and bridges. Levels have reached its peak and stabilized, however, lake levels are higher than average. Expected rainfall may cause water levels to increase. Please exercise extreme caution around all bodies of water, including the Holland River and Fairy Lake. Remind children to not play near bodies of water and always keep pets on a leash to ensure their safety.

This Shoreline Hazard Watch will be in effect through Friday, May 3.
