Newmarket is committed to ensuring safe roads for everyone. This season, three different types of In-Road Flexible Bollard programs will be in place until October 2026 as part of the Town’s traffic calming and speed management program.
The purpose of the bollards is to create narrower lanes in neighbourhoods to slow drivers from speeding through residential areas. These bollards are designed to flex upon impact to prevent damage to the bollard or vehicles.
In-Road Centre Line Bollard Program
Bollards are installed on the centre line marked with the posted speed limit or ‘School Zone’ sign.
These will be installed on the following roads:
- Veteran’s Way (Leslie St. and Sherman Brock Cir)
- Carberry St (Bayview Ave. – Pinder Ave.)
- Willowick Dr (Mulock Dr. – Pinder Ave.)
- Kingsmere Ave (Stonehaven Ave. – Atair Rd.)
- Huron Heights Dr (Davis Dr. – Beman Dr.)
- Patterson St (Leeder Crt – Davis Dr)
- Harrison Dr (Cherrywood Dr [S] – 50 North of Cherrywood Dr [N])
- Main St N (Simon St. – Asa St.)
- Main St N (North of Bexhill Rd.)
- Eagle St (Lorne Ave – Church St.)
- Queen St (Wilstead Dr – Parkside Dr.)
- Bonshaw Ave (Flagstone Way – Yonge St.)
- Keith Ave (Rhodes Cir [W] – Rhodes Cir. [E])
- Joe Persechini Dr (Coleridge Dr. [S] – Hartford Cres. [N])
- Clearmeadow Blvd [W] (East of Bathurst St.)
- Clearmeadow Blvd [E] (West of Yonge S.t)

In-Road Traffic Calming Bollard Program
Bollards are installed on the center lane with two side bollards close to each roadway curb.
This will be installed on the following roads:
- Foxcroft Blvd (Mantopic Rd. – Quantra Cres.)
- Alexander Rd (Sparrow Rd. – Srigley St.)
- Queen St (Roxborough Rd. – Queen’s Cres.)
- College Manor Dr (Mulock Dr – Greig Cir [S])
- Bayview Parkway (Heman St. – George Richardson Park.)
- Millard Ave (Queen St. – Lorne Ave)
- Carol Ave (Eagle St. – Park Ave.)
- Wilstead Dr (Queen St. – 53 Wilstead Dr.)
- Alex Doner Dr. (458 Alex Doner Dr.)
- Aspenwood Dr. (Marble Pl – Walmart West Driveway.)
- Alexander Rd (Sparrow Rd. – Srigley St.)
In-Road Bike Lane Bollard Program
Bollards will be installed on the sides of bike lanes to act as bike lane delineators and as visual narrowing for drivers protecting cyclists even further.
This will be installed on the following roads:
- Alexander Rd (Srigley St. – Davis Dr.)
- Lundy's Ln (Davis Dr. – Bolton Ave.)
- Millard Ave (Yonge St. - Lorne Ave.)
- Millard Ave W (Eagle St W. - Yonge S.t)
- Prospect St (Timothy St. - Srigley St.)
- Srigley St (Prospect St. - Leslie St.)
- Timothy St (Doug Duncan Dr. - Prospect St.)
