York Region is completing micro resurfacing work on Prospect Street, from Gorham Street/Water Street to Davis Drive, in the Town of Newmarket.
Preliminary work began the week of May 8, and the project is tentatively scheduled to be completed by June 30, weather permitting.
Beginning June 22, 2026, night work will occur:
- Monday to Saturday from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
Traffic Impacts
The road will remain open to through traffic during construction. Lane reductions will be required, but access to the hospital, homes, and businesses will be maintained. Parking is not permitted during work hours.
Weather and Schedule Changes
As with all road construction projects, work may be rescheduled due to weather. York Region will provide advance notice where possible.
