Road Closure
From Friday, November 13 at 9 p.m. to Monday, November 12 at 6 a.m. (weather permitting), Davis Drive between Main Street and Prospect Street will be closed to complete railway crossing rehabilitation work.
This work is being led by Metrolinx as part of their state of good repair maintenance program.
Alternate routes are available (click to enlarge map).
Impacts to travellers
- Westbound access will be maintained up to The Tannery Mall/Newmarket GO Station, 465 Davis Drive and the Newmarket Seniors’ Meeting Place, 474 Davis Drive.
- Eastbound access will be maintained up to Superior Street.
- Local access to properties will be maintained within the closure limits; however, there will be no through access at the railway crossing.
- Signs will be in place to guide travellers and pedestrians
- York Region Transit routes will be detoured. Please visit yrt.ca to plan your route
- GO Transit service may be disrupted. Please visit gotransit.com/schedules before travelling
