Calling all pumpkin carvers and Halloween enthusiasts! Bring your creative jack-o-lantern(s) down to Mulock Park on Sunday, November 1, 2026 to show them off one more time in a fantastic pumpkin showcase. All pumpkins are entered into a contest (details below) so be sure to attend the showcase to vote for your favourites!
Pumpkin Drop off: 3 to 6 p.m. (drop-off at the Mulock Drive parking lot)
Showcase and Contest: 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. (Heritage Lawn)
Participate two ways:
Submit your pumpkins for the display and contest
Drop off your jack-o-lantern(s) or painted pumpkins to between 3 to 6 p.m. for a showcase and contest (6:30 to 8:30 p.m.) for a chance to win a prize of a $100 gift card to a Newmarket restaurant of your choosing. All levels and creativity welcome! Contest categories include:
Jack-of-all-Lanterns (overall favourite)
Cutest Pumpkin
Scariest Pumpkin
Most Creative
New this year! All contest registered jack-o-lanterns are automatically entered into two juried categories:
Mulock Park Staff Pick (as juried by the Mulock Park staff)
Technical Award (as juried by the Volunteer Art Docents)
2. Attend the event and showcase.
Participate in Mulock Park activities led by our Community Partners between 3 to 8:30 p.m. and walk through the pumpkin showcase from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. to cast your vote for your favourite jack-o-lanterns in the 4 categories listed above.
Visit Chickadee Café ($) at Mulock House or Glass Hall Patio during the event. The Chickadee Café will be open until 8:30 p.m. for the event!
Visit the AGO at Mulock House art gallery during the event and enjoy a mini tour, led by one of our volunteer art docents.
Thank you to our Community Partners for Pumpkin Parade! Visit them at the Glass Hall and Artist Studio area of Mulock Park.
If you are attending the event, the Town of Newmarket, on behalf of the Newmarket Food Pantry, will be accepting non-perishable food and personal care items including toothbrushes, toothpaste, and bar soap.
Each pumpkin entry must be registered with a Town of Newmarket staff at the time of drop-off in order to be entered in the contest. Name and email required.
Each pumpkin entry will be assigned a number that will be stapled to the pumpkin for display during the showcase.
Pumpkins may be carved and/or painted.
The Town of Newmarket staff will provide LED tea lights in insert into each pumpkin. If you wish to provide your own lighting, that is acceptable however, it will not be returned to you at the end of the event.
All pumpkins will be placed into yard waste at the end of the event. If you wish to keep your pumpkin, you must be on-site at 8:30 p.m. as soon as the event, is over to claim your pumpkin.
Each entry can only win in one category. If a pumpkin has the most votes in more than one category, the prize will go to the next highest voted in that category.
In the case of a first place tie in a category, both pumpkins will receive a prize.
All ballots must be completed at the event within the time of the event (6:30 to 8:30 p.m.).
Each attendee can only vote once.
Gift card prizes must be to a Newmarket restaurant only.
Winners will be notified after the event via email the week of November 2 to 6, 2026. Winning pumpkins will be posted on this webpage and on the Town of Newmarket's social media.
Winners must be 18 years or older and will be required to show photo ID upon picking up their prize.
Mulock Park - Parking Information
Please note that pumpkin drop-off from 3 to 6 p.m. will take place from the East side of the Mulock Drive parking lot. Once attendees have dropped off and registered their pumpkins, vehicles are to relocate to one of the following areas for the duration of the event along with all other event attendees:
Yonge Street Parking Lot (16830 Yonge Street) - attendees will enter the North end of the park from this parking location
Mulock Drive Parking Lot (West side) - please note: spots are very limited in this lot although some barrier free spaces are available in this lot
Ray Twinney Recreation Complex (100 Eagle Street West) - this is a 10 minute walk to Mulock Park

Media and Town of Newmarket staff will be taking photos and video footage at Town of Newmarket Special Events. These images may be used, re-used and published in news stories, social media and on websites, in addition to distributed to our event partners.
