​​​​​For your convenience, the Town offers a number of payment options for property taxes.

Avoid line-ups and processing delays by paying your property taxes by telephone, internet banking OR through a pre-authorized payment plan (PAP). It's secure, convenient and easy. Learn more about payment options below and sign-up for Pre-Authorized Payment or online/telephone banking options today!

​Pre-Authorized Payment Plans:

The Town offers a number of pre-authorized plans either on the instalment due dates, or monthly payments that can assist you by spreading out your remittances for up to 10 months between February and November.  For the monthly plans, withdrawals are done on either the 15th or last business day of the month.

In-person, on-line or telephone banking through your financial institution:

Set up through your financial institution. Payee is Newmarket Taxes and your property roll number is your account number. Please note that you will need to make some minor alterations to your roll number as seen on your tax bill. Your final roll number should be 19 digits. 

Sample Roll # (as seen on your tax bill)

1. Add 19 to the beginning
2. Remove the final two digits

Payments require 3 to 5 business days for processing from the bank to the Town.

By Post-dated Cheques:

Cheques can be delivered in person or in the after-hours drop box at the Newmarket Municipal Offices (395 Mulock Drive), which will be collected the next business day.  They may also be dropped off at the Ray Twinney Complex (100 Eagle Street West) or the Magna Centre (800 Mulock Drive) 


In Person:


In-person payment of property taxes is available at the Customer Service Centre at the Town Offices at 395 Mulock Drive.  Note: Cash payments for taxes are discouraged.

Also, payments can be made at the Magna Centre and the Ray Twinney Recreation Complex (cheque or debit card only) during its hours of operation at the Customer Service kiosk. For the most up-to-date hours of operation, please view our webpage.

You can also pay in person by cash or cheque through your banking institution. 

Credit Card (On-line Only):

To pay your property taxes using your existing MasterCard, Visa or American Express, visit Plastiq.com

Note 
- There is an additional fee to use this service that is charged by the processing company, independent of the Town. Payments require three to five business days for processing back to the Town. 

Please note all unpaid taxes will be charged interest at a rate of 1.25% per month. This charge will be added on the first day of each calendar month in which the default continues.
