The Town of Newmarket has postponed Mayor Taylor's New Year's Leveescheduled for tonight (Friday, January 12) due to the anticipated winter stormannounced by Environment Canada - which is callingfor up to 25 cm of snow, gusting winds with near zero visibility at times. The event has been postponed to Friday, February 2. "We've been monitoring the weather forecast hoping that we could host this great event this evening, however giventhe potential for dangerous and unpleasant conditions, we're postponing theLevee out of an abundance of caution," says Mayor John Taylor. "Please staysafe, avoid unnecessary travel, and I look forward to celebrating the new yearwith everyone on February 2."
