Storm clean-up continues in Newmarket following the storm last Friday

Tree-related storm clean-up continues in Newmarket following the inclement weather that occurred last Friday (July 3, 2026). The Town estimates that over 200 trees on Town property were damaged in and around the Yonge Street and Mulock Drive area. Newmarket crews and their contractor worked throughout the weekend and continue to make their way around Town to assess and clean up fallen trees and branches on Town-owned property in areas affected by the storm.

All reported roadway blockages have been cleared, and crews continue to address remaining priority tree issues, including those along trails. In areas impacted by significant storm damage, clean-up efforts and some non-emergency work will continue throughout this week and into next week

The Town thanks residents for their patience as we continue to focus on public safety, hazardous trees, and limbs, and impacts to public access.
