Creating Accessible Recreation for Everyone (CARE)
The Town of Newmarket's CARE fund is now available. The Town of Newmarket aims to Create Accessible Recreation for Everyone by offering financial assistance to residents of all ages on any Town of Newmarket Recreation & Culture registered programs. The objective of this program is to offer increased opportunities to those who may require financial assistance that would not otherwise be able to participate in recreation.
CARE is available to all Newmarket residents who can demonstrate a need for financial assistance through proof of income. You may qualify for a per cent discount of up to a maximum of 50 per cent off program/membership registration each calendar year.
To apply, you will need to provide the following forms:
Please be advised that due to the number of subsidy applications, the review and approval process takes 3 to 4 weeks from time of submission to process your application. We advise you apply well in advance (minimum 4 weeks) before the registration start date of the service(s) you wish to participate in.
You will be contacted by a town employee by either email (or phone if email is not an option) advising you of your application status. Please note that approved funding is not retroactive and therefore cannot be applied or used towards previous registrations made prior to your funding approval.
Donate to CARE
If you are interested in supporting our goal of creating accessible recreation for everyone, you can make a monetary donation to the CARE program fund. We accept donations via cash, cheque (to Town of Newmarket) or credit card.
You can donate via mail or in person at any Town of Newmarket Customer Service Kiosk. For any donation of $20 or more, a charitable tax receipt will be sent to you in the mail.
Thank you for your donations and helping to enrich, enhance and improve the life of a fellow citizen and neighbour.
