From April 1 until the end of April, Metrolinx will be preforming safety enhancements to level crossings for the Barrie GO Expansion Project at Newmarket's train track crossings on Mulock Drive, Water Street, Timothy Street, and Davis Drive. These improvements will make the crossings even safer for vehicles, pedestrians and the community.
What can residents expect
Metrolinx will be installing tactile plates and painting line markings on the sidewalks along the level crossings to support safety enhancements as part of the GO Expansion project.
Disruptions
A small portion of the sidewalk will be closed off while the work is being completed. Signage will be in place to redirect pedestrians in the nearby areas. Residents may also experience increased noise levels from construction equipment. The Town of Newmarket will continue to work closely with Metrolinx to ensure minimal disruption.

- Mulock Drive: April 2, April 9 and April 24
- Water Street: April 1, April 10 and April 24
- Timothy Street: April 1, April 10 and April 24
- Davis Drive: April 3, April 11 and April 17
